We use the SARS-CoV-2 antigen test from Joinster or Safecare. This test is listed on the website of the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) and has a sensitivity of 96.10% and a specificity of 98.1%.

Both a throat and a nasopharynx swab are performed in a PCR test. In the citizen test and the rapid antigen test, a swab in both nostrils are performed. The tests are carried out by a medical professional.

You will receive a medical certificate with the test result in two languages (German & English) which contains all the requirements for traveling after 15 to 30 minutes *.
You will receive your test report from the Bremen Medical Laboratory to the email address you provided, usually within the next 24 to 36 hours *.
In addition, your test report contains your individual passport data in order to ensure that the test result is unequivocally assigned to you. Some states require this information on entry. Please inform yourself before you start your journey and bring your travel document with you if necessary.

How are the tests carried out?
A PCR test involves taking two swabs: one in a nasal cavity and one in a throat. In the case of a citizen test or a rapid antigen test, the smear is only 2.5 cm deep in both nostrils
Do the tests "really" arrive within 24 hours?
In 95% of cases, the results arrive by mail within 24 to 36 hours if the samples are taken from Monday to Friday!
Are there differences at the weekend?
Yes, if the sample is taken on Saturday, the results will usually reach you by Sunday evening at the latest.
How do I get the result?
When do I have to be there to do an Express Test?
You have to be at the test centre between 08:30 and 09:15 in the morning, so that the result can be validated on the same day and sent to you by e-mail.
Are there volume discounts or discounts for children?
No, you have to pay the fixed price per test (39,00€ / 75,00€ / 85,00€ / 129,00€), as work on site & in the lab is the same.
Do I have to make an appointment with you?
No, we work without an appointment. You can simply drop in during our opening hours.
What do I have to bring with me to get tested for free?
Since 02.03.2021 we are a partner of the city of Bremen (previously Hall 5). For a free test, you need a letter from the public health department, ÖGD certificate or certificate from your employer, such as school, daycare centre, nursing & social services, old people’s home, etc.
When do I have to be tested for the test to be valid?
The maximum age for a test varies from country to country. Please follow the respective country regulations, which you can find on the website of the German Foreign Office.
Where can I find you?
You will find us directly at the airport in Terminal 1, behind the information desk in the public area.
Can I take the test with you even though I am departing from another airport?
Yes, you can fly from any airport in Germany with our test.
Is the report/result in English?
Since 03.03.2021, all findings by e-mail are in English.
How long are the waiting times?
Our waiting times are less than 10 minutes. With large numbers of patients, it can take a little longer.
Which test is required for returning travellers to shorten the quarantine period?
In Bremen a rapid antigen test is sufficient, for other federal states please inform.
Do I need a PCR test despite vaccination?
At the moment, only a few federal states have made testing compulsory for those who have been fully vaccinated.
As of 03.03.2021, these include Georgia, Iceland, Madeira and the Seychelles. The Federal Foreign Office provides up-to-date information.
